Dear Parents and Staff:
We recently completed a thorough interview process that involved staff, parents, administrators and Board of Education members, in order to help us select the best possible principal for New Fairfield Middle School. I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Karen Gruetzner was selected to be the next New Fairfield Middle School Principal, beginning July 1, 2022.
Many of you know Mrs. Greutzner from Consolidated School and will understand why we are thrilled that she will be bringing her talents to NFMS. Karen’s joyful nature, outgoing personality and love of children will be invaluable assets to NFMS. Her ability to form productive relationships as a collaborator, supportive colleague, and critical friend will greatly benefit staff and students.
Karen’s creative vision, proactive style and reflective leadership will allow the Middle School to thrive in very positive ways under her leadership. Karen understands the importance of high expectations for staff and students and strives to meet the needs of all learners in her leadership role. The committee was particularly impressed with her clear vision for high-quality instruction and her systematic approach to intervention and support for all learners.
Mrs. Gruetzner is an excellent communicator and I am confident that she will be an asset to NFMS. On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Mrs. Gruetzner will be appointed by the New Fairfield Board of Education. She follows the outstanding tenure of Mrs. Baldelli. I know you join me in both thanking Mrs. Baldelli for her dedication to New Fairfield and our children and welcoming Karen Gruetzner to her new position.
